The design process at ANINE BING begins with a seasonal trend research and a creative brainstorming with my design team. This fall is all about the 70’s and a fun and playful round gold bag was one of the directions I knew I wanted to take.
The brainstorming is followed up by quick sketches to see how we can incorporate elements from the ready to wear collection. In this case the burgundy and the dark green leather was added to match the patchwork concept of the shoe and accessory collection. The vintage looking chain is sourced locally.
When I have approved the sketches and overall look of the bag it’s sent off to production. After a couple of weeks we see the first sample and give comments on the material, color, the hardware and general workmanship of the bag.. Depending on how well production manages to translate our comments I either approve the second sample or give additional comments.
When I love absolutely everything about the product I know that it’s ready to go..
